Secondary Science Teacher / Team Leader 08/2015 - 08/2018

Biology Discipline Lead responsible for the planning and coordination of curriculum and instruction for the campus biology team.
Topics include: biochemistry, organic molecules, DNA, replication, transcription, translation, molecular and population genetics, evolution, ecology, environmental systems, and safety.

Active Plano ISD Biology Curriculum Team member.
Contribute to the writing and editing of the Biology curriculum content and document database for the school district.
Instruct district teachers on curriculum efficacy and continuity.

Responsible for teaching highly-technical biology courses:
Genetics, Introduction to Biotechnology, Biology I.
Labs emphasize basic and advanced biotechnological techniques, as well as a survey of biological principals.
Advanced techniques include bacterial transformations in E. coli, DNA isolation, restriction endonuclease digestions, DNA gel electrophoresis, cloning in C. elegans, fluorescence microscopy, lacZ staining, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR).

As Academic Biology Co-op Faculty Coordinator, supervised student internships required for completion of the biotechnology program at Collin College.
